Choose from a range of cruises during your Easter break in Chester…….
Depending on whereabouts you live in the UK, your child’s Easter school holiday break could begin on Saturday 1st or Saturday 8th of April in 2017. Regardless of when you are visiting our fair city this Easter, ChesterBoat can offer you and your family a range of cruises which are suitable for people of all ages. These include both daytime and evening cruises; all of which would make a perfect addition to a family day out or short break in Chester!
The River Dee by day:
Easter Sailings: Every day from 1st – 23rd April, 2017.
During the daytime why not climb aboard a Half Hour City Cruise, a great opportunity for you and the family to sit back, relax and listen to an informative commentary about Chester’s rich and fascinating history! There are departures at least once an hour but usually every half hour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Book your tickets online today to save on the full boarding price! Great value family tickets are available as well.
Easter Dates: Available to combine with the Half Hour City Cruise every day from 1st – 23rd April, 2017.
Alternatively, why not compliment your river cruise by combining it with an open top bus tour around Chester? With a “Hop-on-hop-off” bus ticket you can see all of the famous sights for 24 hours, giving you the freedom of the city. The combined boat and bus tour offers excellent value.
The bus stop is right next to our landing stage, meaning you can disembark after your river cruise straight onto an open top bus. However, you don’t have to take the bus tour on the same day; in fact you could retain your bus ticket to use on any day during your stay and you will still get 24 hours validity on the ticket. Discounted tickets are available on-board the boats or online.
N.B. the last full bus tour leaves The Groves at approximately 4 p.m.
Easter Sailing: Saturday 15th April, 2017 (2:30 p.m. only).
We also have our 2 Hour Iron Bridge Cruise sailing on Easter Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Enjoy a leisurely 2 hour cruise through ‘Eaton Estate’, home of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster. This stunning journey is an extension of our city cruise up the beautiful River Dee, cruising through rural Cheshire, past Heron Bridge and Eccleston Ferry, meandering around the Crook of Dee and through ‘Eaton Estate’. Just beyond Aldford you will see the wonderful sight of the Iron Bridge, before you then return to Chester.
This is an excellent outing for sightseers to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the river whilst you may also have the opportunity to see and photograph wild life including Swans, Herons, Cormorants, Moorhens and even Kingfishers. Your cruise will be punctuated with informative sightseeing commentary.
Easter Sailings: Sunday 23rd April, 2017 at 12 noon and 3 p.m.
The 23rd of April falls on the last day of the Easter school holidays for some of you this year. St. George’s Day may not yet be a public holiday but that doesn’t mean that we cannot celebrate our English heritage with that most English of meals; afternoon tea!
Join us for a vintage style, traditional English Afternoon Tea (including cucumber sandwiches) whilst sailing along the beautiful river Dee.
Sailing at 12 Noon and 3PM. These cruises always sell out so don’t delay if you would like to join one of our St. George’s Day Vintage Afternoon Tea Cruises.
The River Dee by night:
Fish and Chip Cruise
Easter Sailing: Good Friday (14th April, 2017.) at 7:30 p.m.
